Learn how the CDL Sub18 Cover shields your subwoofer from scuffs, dust, and bumps during transport and storage.
Quick answer
The CDL Sub18 Cover is a rugged dust cover that protects your subwoofer from scuffs, bumps, and dust during transport and storage.
Why use a dedicated cover for your subwoofer?
A subwoofer like the CDL Sub18 is heavy and often moved between gigs. Without a cover, its cabinet and finish are exposed to scratches, dents, and dust buildup that can shorten its life.
A dedicated cover fits the exact dimensions of the speaker, so it stays in place and doesn't interfere with handles or connectors. Generic covers may shift or leave gaps.
Trade-offs to consider
The CDL Sub18 Cover is a dust cover, not a padded flight case. It protects against scuffs and bumps but won't absorb heavy impact or keep out moisture in wet conditions.
If you regularly load your subwoofer into a truck with other heavy gear, consider combining the cover with careful stacking or a padded bag for extra cushioning.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the cover fit other subwoofers?
- The CDL Sub18 Cover is custom-made for the CDL Sub18. It may not fit other models because of different dimensions or handle placement.
- How do I clean the cover?
- Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Let it air dry completely before storing it or putting it back on the speaker. Regular cleaning prevents dirt from scratching the speaker surface.
- Can I leave the cover on during a show?
- No. The cover is meant for transport and storage only. Remove it before powering on the subwoofer to avoid overheating and blocked airflow.
- Is the cover waterproof?
- No, it is a dust cover, not waterproof. Keep the subwoofer dry during transport and storage.
