Not every StudioLive mixer fits the 16.4.2 bag. Learn which models are compatible, how to pack for transport, and when to choose a different case.

The StudioLive 16.4.2 Bag fits the StudioLive SE 16, StudioLive 32SC, and StudioLive 16. It does not fit larger Series III mixers like the 32, 32S, or 64S. Pack your mixer with the handles and padded interior doing the work, and keep cables in a separate pouch to avoid pressure on the surface.
Why the 16.4.2 bag confuses buyers
The name '16.4.2' refers to a mixer format, not a universal size. The bag is built for specific StudioLive models, and PreSonus also makes separate covers and bags for other mixers in the line. If you own a StudioLive 32, 32S, or 64S, the 16.4.2 bag is the wrong shape and size. Those larger mixers use the StudioLive 32/32S/64S Cover for dust protection, and you would need a different transport solution for gigging.
How to pack a mixer bag without damaging it
Start with a clean, dry mixer. Dust and grit left on the surface can grind against the padding during transport. Coil cables loosely and place them in an outside pocket or a separate cable bag, never on top of the mixer inside the main compartment. The padded interior and ballistic nylon exterior of the 16.4.2 bag protect against dust, scratches, and sharp objects, but they cannot protect against concentrated pressure from a heavy coil of cables.
